Ryan Crotty sinks a three point shot at home in Alumni Gym.

Ryan Crotty ‘25 is a Maverick behind the arc. At home in Alumni Gym, Crotty helped the boys basketball team secure a trip to the VISAA Quarterfinals with a remarkable five three-pointers. In the process, he set an all-time Virginia record, public and private, for three-point field goals in a single season.

Heading into the state quarterfinals, Crotty has 134 three pointers so far this season. The previous VISAA record was 127 by Walker Andres (VES).

MSA’s star three-point shooter now holds the Miller School, BRAC, VISAA, and Virginia high school records for the most three pointers in a single season.

Crotty’s prowess behind the arc, helped the Mavericks win the VISAA DII State Championship Title.
